Wouter de Zanger | Lawyer
Educational and training background
Llm. doctor Wouter de Zanger obtained his doctorate from the University of Utrecht. Earlier, in 2012, he graduated cum laude from the Legal research master, a research master in which he specialized in criminal law. During his studies he was a student assistant at the criminal law and criminology section, edited a national legal journal and did an internship at the scientific office of the Supreme Court.
Experience
After his studies, Wouter worked as a PhD candidate, postdoctoral researcher and University lecturer at Utrecht University. He has written several publications, in particular on the financial approach to crime, the extrajudicial settlement of criminal cases and financial-economic criminal law. In 2018 he defended his dissertation on criminal confiscation. He was sworn in as a lawyer in 2020. After working for three years at a high end law firm in Amsterdam (Franken Van Kampen Groenhuijsen lawyers), he joined Kuyp Baar Advocaten in 2023.
Wouter is a part-time lecturer at Utrecht University. He also regularly provides courses for lawyers and judges on money laundering and confiscation of benefits.
Vision
Thanks to his scientific background, Wouter can quickly get to the heart of any matter. He is also able to interact with different types of clients. Wouter handles both general criminal cases and fraud cases and has a special interest in cases involving money laundering and confiscation of benefits.
