Fabian van Hal studied both the master's degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law and the master's degree in Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam. Fabian wrote his criminal law master's thesis on the duty of care provision in the new Environmental Act. His administrative law thesis addressed the European Union's failure to safeguard its democratic values. During his studies, he was an proffessors assistant at the Amsterdam Law Firm excellence program and provided exam training to law students. He was also a member of the faculty student council of the UvA law faculty.
During his studies Fabian worked at the Pro bono legal aid center Amsterdam. There he gained procedural experience in punitive administrative law and criminal law. After internships at various community law firms, Fabian has previously gained experience at a big lawfirm in Amsterdam. He also worked as a policy officer in the House of Representatives of the States General. Finally, Fabian is the winner of the 2021 National Criminal Plea Competition.
Due to his experience and knowledge of administrative and criminal law, Fabian can handle the intersection between these legal areas well. His experience also gives him a feeling for both commercial and private clients. At a time when a company or citizen is increasingly falling victim to the sanctioning government, sound legal assistance is desperately needed. His passion for a just outcome of a case results in well-founded advice, pleasant communication and passionate advocacy.
