Educational and training background

Ellen Hullegie graduated in criminal as well as civil law from Utrecht University. After Ellen completed her internship with the Netherlands Bar Association, she specialised in criminal law and juvenile criminal law. She also completed her specialisation in the law relating to victims’ rights and assists victims of crime.

Experience

Ellen has extensive experience in criminal law. During her studies, she worked as a legal assistant at a law firm. She also worked in the Legal Advice Centre for Prisoners and the Nieuwegein Legal Aid Centre. Ellen acquired further experience in criminal law at the Midden-Nederland District Court (Utrecht) and for the past several years she has been working as a criminal lawyer in Utrecht.

Ellen offers an adequate approach to criminal law actions by the government, in part due to her broad based training background. Not only in criminal law, but in civil juvenile law as well.
